Turning Derby Day into a Year-Round Moment for Godolphin

With the world-famous Kentucky Derby offering just two minutes of national attention, the challenge for thoroughbred horseracing and breeding team Godolphin was clear:  

How do you keep audiences engaged beyond the big race – and turn one high-profile moment into lasting impact?

As their social and video content partner, we needed to build a strategy that didn’t just react to race-day hype, but sustained brand storytelling across welfare, fandom, and performance. 

Solution

We delivered a three-pronged social strategy to turn fleeting attention into long-term engagement:

Hooking viewers beyond the race. We spotlighted the elite horses and trainers behind Godolphin’s historic Derby wins, telling the stories that took them to the gold.  

Putting welfare in the spotlight. We used Godolphin's platform to champion equine welfare, showcasing the lives and second careers of ex-racehorses supported by Godolphin Lifetime Care. 

Fuelling the fandom. We boosted traffic to the Godolphin Shop by leveraging increased reach on social during their historic Grand Slam weekend.
