Leading professional sailing league SailGP brought us on board with one simple goal: to make a splash. From 2020 to 2023, Engage was the league’s launch content and performance agency, tasked with building an audience strategy and operating model fit for the fastest-growing water sport on the planet. 

From zero to full throttle, we owned and executed SailGP’s digital operation end-to-end spanning content creation, platform management, fan engagement, rights optimisation, and monetisation. With each new city and race added to the calendar, we scaled our team to deliver high-impact content and performance marketing that kept fans coming back for more. 

We weren’t just there to fill feeds; we were building a future-facing blueprint that was eventually transitioned in-house.

Solution

Our solution was anchored in an always-on, channel-specific content strategy — weaving paid, earned, and organic strands together across platforms. We activated a full funnel of activity: driving discovery through Shorts and Reels, retention through episodic formats, and conversion through performance media

Whether we were producing race-weekend content in Sydney or executing campaign assets from London HQ, we moved at the speed of sport. That meant adapting to SailGP’s evolving calendar, building a content engine that flexed with the season, and using real-time insights to optimise every output. 

We also trained in-house teams and codified operational workflows to ensure a smooth handover once SailGP was ready to bring their model internal.
